Tyler Nossaman - GOK “Tenant Spotlight”
This month, we’re proud to spotlight Tyler Nossaman, founder of AirNoss, a modern and safety-forward flight training school based at Guthrie-Edmond Regional Airport. Tyler’s aviation journey began at just 17 when his dad asked if he wanted to earn his pilot’s license—a question that changed the course of his life. “I said yes immediately,” Tyler says. He enrolled in flight school during his senior year, earned his PPL at 17, and continued pushing into advanced ratings. From that moment on, aviation was no longer just an interest—it became a calling.
Tyler is quick to credit his biggest influences. “My family supported me from day one,” he shares. He also had CFIs who challenged him, encouraged him, and helped shape the pilot he is today. That foundation fueled his path to Oklahoma State University, where he majored in entrepreneurship—a field that helped him understand how to turn a passion into a business. While in college, Tyler worked as a contract pilot flying various business jets, gaining hands-on experience in real-world operations. Balancing school, flying, and business planning strengthened not only his skills but also his vision for the future.
Tyler is also an avid golfer, a background that sharpened the mental discipline he says shows up every day in the cockpit. “Golf and flying demand the same calm approach. When things get stressful, you slow down, breathe, and focus.”
One experience that especially shaped Tyler as a pilot was his unforgettable trip to Alaska during his instrument training. He flew a Cirrus SR22T from Oklahoma all the way to Barrow, Alaska—the northernmost point in the United States—alongside his instructor. Navigating rugged terrain, challenging weather, and remote airspace, the trip pushed him far beyond typical training experiences. “That trip is one I’ll never forget,” Tyler says. “It made me a much better pilot and taught me the value of preparation, patience, and respect for the environment you’re flying in.”
Experiences like that helped inspire the launch of AirNoss, a flight school built around safety, modernization, and real-world flying skills. Tyler has flown Cirrus aircraft across North America, and he wanted new pilots to benefit from the level of quality and safety he experienced.
AirNoss stands apart by training well beyond minimum FAA standards. With state-of-the-art Cirrus aircraft, an advanced simulator, and instructors held to a higher benchmark, AirNoss prepares clients not just to pass checkrides, but to confidently take real trips and use aviation as a true lifestyle tool. “Flying has given people back the gift of time or opened doors they never thought were possible,” Tyler says. “Being part of that is what I enjoy most.”
Guthrie has played a major role in AirNoss’s growth, and Tyler has been grateful for the support. “We’ve been welcomed from the start. Starting AirNoss at GOK has been one of the best decisions we’ve made.” He’s equally quick to credit his team for the company’s success. “I’m grateful to have such a good team alongside me,” Tyler says. “They’re a huge part of what keeps AirNoss moving forward.”
Always pushing himself personally and professionally, Tyler recently completed his MBA from the University of Oklahoma—an achievement that further strengthens his leadership of a growing aviation company.
Looking ahead, AirNoss is focused on expanding its fleet, elevating its training programs, and strengthening its maintenance capabilities so clients receive complete support throughout their aviation journey.
As we close out the year, Tyler’s story is a perfect reminder of what aviation can offer. For anyone considering giving the Gift of Flight this holiday, AirNoss is ready to help new aviators take their first step into a life-changing journey.
