January Ramp Report

“Team Spotlight” Christopher Fine, GOK - Line Service Technician

Christopher Fine is a valued Line Service Technician at GOK, bringing an impressive aviation background to our team. After serving in the U.S. Army as an Apache helicopter electrician, he transitioned to the U.S. Air Force in 2012, where he spent 12 years working as a B-1 Bomber electrician and tool room attendant. His technical expertise and commitment to excellence have been evident throughout his career.

Outside of work, Chris enjoys hiking and playing video games. He and his wife, Sara, are proud parents of five children—four girls and one boy. Despite his busy schedule, Chris remains focused on his future aspirations. Driven by his passion for aviation, he hopes to become a pilot and one day fly as a corporate pilot.

Justin Skaggs, General Manager at GOK, shares his thoughts on Chris: “Chris has a few things that are hard to train in this industry. One of those things is a passion for the aviation industry. He shows up for work ready to take on the day and is genuinely excited for the arrivals that pop up. He puts in the work ahead of time so that each evolution is seamless for our pilots and passengers.”

Holiday Cheer Took Flight!

December was full of festive spirit as our Santa Fly-Ins brought joy to families at TRL, GPH, and GOK. From smiling kids to holiday photo ops, these events showcased the heart of our aviation community and the welcoming atmosphere at Apex Aero Center locations. A big thank you to everyone who participated and helped make these Fly-Ins a memorable success. Here’s to carrying that energy into an amazing new year!

“Runway Rockstar” at GOK

Our January Runway Rockstar comes with a roar from the past. This beautifully preserved T-6 advanced trainer, first built in 1943, stopped into GOK as part of a small formation flying a tight cross-metro schedule for Veterans Day flyovers across the Oklahoma City area. Their mission was simple but powerful: honor our veterans from the sky. A special shoutout goes to L’Trell at GOK, who captured this great moment on the ramp and took care of the crew. His eye for aviation history and the pride he takes in representing Apex Aero Center shine through.
