Team Member Spotlight:
Ryan Larson
Ryan Larson started with our Council Bluffs FBO this past April as a line service technician, and he’s already moving up the ranks to lead line service tech, where he oversees day-to-day line service operations and trains new LSTs.
As someone who’s always tinkering with car and motorcycle engines, stepping into the aviation field was a natural fit for Ryan, who always thought airplanes were interesting. He first began with TAC Air, and that foray helped him gain the needed experience to advance in the aviation field.
When he saw an opening at Apex, he jumped at the chance to work with our growing FBO. He said, “The team support here is great, and everyone is happy to help whenever someone needs it.” Having a shorter commute to the FBO doesn’t hurt either.
Ryan also shared he enjoys working at Apex because, “There’s no judgment. Some people have little experience while others have more; you can go to anyone with a question. With everyone having some sort of aviation background, it’s nice to have different points of view about things.”
One of his favorite Apex memories so far is when the NCAA Men's College World Series came to Omaha in June. “It was nice to see everyone working together, and I thought it was cool seeing how much traffic went through here during that time.”
Ryan also enjoys noticing how the base has continued to grow since he began in April, as well as all the various kinds of traffic that come through. Ryan may be an aviation fan, but he does not have a pilot’s license. He will tell you he “likes his feet firmly planted on the ground,” although you can find him riding motorcycles. He also enjoys fishing, road trips, and video games (when the weather turns).
“Ryan has made great strides learning CBF operations in his short time with us,” said Alex Long, general manager. “Not only is Ryan reliable, he also applies himself and takes the initiative to get the job done right the first time. We’re so happy Ryan landed at our FBO.”

Spectacular Photo and a Stellar Review
We just had to highlight this great photo that Amy at our GPH FBO captured. Those fogbows don’t last long.
And, of course, we’re so grateful for Pierre’s stellar review of our service at Midwest National Air Center in Excelsior Springs.
Happy Thanksgiving
From all of us at Apex Aero Center, we wish you and yours a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Our self-service fueling stations will be open, and someone will be on call on Thanksgiving at each location, but we will effectively be closed for the day.
“Pre-Thanksgiving flight status: 100% chance of turkey.”
