Black Hawk Touches Down at GPH Kansas City During Hurricane Relief Operation

We recently had an exciting visit at Apex Aero Center GPH Kansas City with a privately-owned Black Hawk helicopter stopping by! Arris Pardalos, General Manager at GPH shared that the Black Hawk was en route from Wyoming, heading down to North Carolina to assist with hurricane relief efforts. It’s always an honor to see aircraft like this on important missions, and we wish them safe travels as they help those in need.

If you'd like to support hurricane relief efforts in both Florida and North Carolina, here are a few ways you can help:

  • Donate to the Red Cross: The Red Cross provides shelter, food, and emergency support for those affected by hurricanes. You can contribute at www.redcross.org.

  • Volunteer: Organizations like the Red Cross and local shelters are always in need of volunteers. Check out opportunities in your area.

  • Support local food banks: Many communities in the hurricane-affected areas rely on food banks. Donations to groups like Feeding America can make a huge impact.

Every bit of help counts in times of crisis!

Veterans Day Employee Spotlight

In honor of Veterans Day on November 11th, this month's Employee Spotlight will feature two of our dedicated Apex employees who are actively serving in the military. We are proud to celebrate their ongoing commitment to both their military duties and their roles at Apex. Their service embodies dedication, leadership, and sacrifice, and we are grateful for the unique perspectives and skills they bring to our team. Join us in recognizing and honoring these individuals for their outstanding contributions to both our organization and our country.

Justin Skaggs, US Navy Reserve & General Manager at Apex GOK, pictured with his wife Lexi.

Justin Skaggs is the General Manager at our GOK Oklahoma City Apex location. His leadership and dedication extend far beyond the day-to-day operations at Apex. Justin is also a proud and devoted 1st Class Petty Officer with 11 years of service in the U.S. Navy Reserve. As a Naval Aircrewman on the C-40 cargo aircraft, Justin plays an integral role in Fleet Logistics Support Squadron VR59, based out of Naval Air Station Fort Worth. His responsibilities involve more than just flying; he and his team are crucial in providing global transportation support for cargo and personnel, ensuring the Navy and Marine Corps can operate smoothly around the world.

Managing one of our busiest Apex locations and serving in the Navy Reserve demonstrates his remarkable commitment to leadership and service. At Apex, we’ve seen firsthand the same dedication, precision, and teamwork that Justin brings to his military service. His ability to seamlessly balance these two demanding roles is a testament to his strong work ethic, discipline, and passion for excellence.

Brayden Dyke, Oklahoma National Guard & Line Service Technician at Apex GOK

Brayden Dyke is a Line Service Technician at Apex GOK Oklahoma City who also serves in the Oklahoma Army National Guard. Brayden has been a member of the Oklahoma Army National Guard for 1.5 years. Currently, he’s attending the prestigious State Officer Candidate School (OCS) with a planned graduation in May 2025. OCS is a rigorous program designed to prepare future military leaders, and Brayden is excelling in this challenging environment. Alongside 12 other candidates, he cycles through leadership roles that involve writing Standard Operating Procedures, planning training activities for monthly drills, and effectively communicating up and down the chain of command to ensure mission success.

Brayden is also pursuing a degree in Computer Science at Oklahoma State University. His ability to juggle his academic studies, military training, and professional responsibilities at Apex speaks to his incredible work ethic and passion for growth.

We are proud to work alongside individuals who demonstrate leadership and dedication both in their civilian careers and their military service
